Pr. Marco A. Ciufolini, PhD, Advisor in Medicinal Chemistry.
Professor Ciufolini is the Canada Research Chair in Synthetic Organic Chemistry and the co-head of the Division of Drug Design and Synthesis at the Center for Drug Research and Development at the University of British Columbia, in Vancouver, BC, Canada.
He received a Ph.D. from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and carried out postdoctoral research at Yale University. Before moving to Canada, he held positions at Rice University, Houston Texas (1984-1998) and at the University of Lyon and the Ecole Superieure de Chimie, Physique et Electronique de Lyon (1998-2004).
He is the author of more than 120 technical papers, book chapters and patents in the field of synthetic organic chemistry. He is the founder or co-founder of three companies (two in Europe and one in the USA) and serves as a consultant to several pharmaceutical laboratories in North America and in Europe.
